At 2007 A-C Show
Life-sized 'locked' moose display
"It's the most exciting thing the All-Canada Show has ever done. Period."
That's the comment of Jennifer Young, All-Canada Show vice-president, regarding the world-class exhibit "Locked at Lac Seul" that will appear at the 2007 All-Canada Show circuit in nine Midwest U.S. markets.
This exhibit is a first of its kind. The display consists of two life-sized trophy moose with horns locked in a "duel to the death." Several years ago, the All-Canada Show obtained the locked horns--both with over a 55-inch spread, and in near perfect condition--found near Lac Seul, Ontario.
In 2004, All-Canada partnered with Hawkins Taxidermists Ltd., Winnipeg, Manitoba, one of North America's leading taxidermies, to build the life-sized exhibit. It has taken more than a year from concept to completion of project.
"This is one of the most magnificent mounts we've ever produced," said Damien Deegan, president of Hawkins Taxidermists Ltd., "We knew it would be a challenge but it was one that we took on confidently and the product speaks for itself.
"Locked at Lac Seul" will be on display at all nine shows. Show guests will have the opportunity to purchase framed signed and numbered prints of the Padgett original at any 2005 show. Padgett will be attending all of the nine shows. |
